Meet the Doctor
Dr. Kamra DeFries DDS
Dr. DeFries is the head of our team! She has worked in the dental field for almost 20 years and is loved by everyone she meets. Her calm demeanor and soothing voice relaxes those with dental anxiety. She received her Dental Degree from UMKC in 2004 and worked as Dr. Barber's associate for a year and a half before purchasing the practice from him. She loves spending time with her husband and 4 children when not at work. During her free time she is usually reading or watching her kids sporting events.
Meet the Staff
Amee Shultz, CDA
Meet Amee! Amee is a Certified Dental Assistant, and has worked in the dental industry since she graduated high school in 1989. Not only does she help in the operatories, she helps at the front desk and inputs all our insurance payments. She is a Knox County native and resides with her husband, Randy, of 30 years. In her downtime, she loves to spend time with her grandkids, go to concerts, and go to the beach!
Heather Findling, CDA
Heather is also a Certified Dental Assistant with almost 25 years dental experience. She is originally from Kirksville, but has lived in other areas as well. She and her family recently returned to Kirksville. She has been an asset to our team. She enjoys spending time with her family and dogs. During her free time, she likes to read and make bread.
Megan Baugh, RDH
Megan is a Registered Dental Hygienist. She started working at a dental office as a receptionist, and fell in love with the field. At that point she went back to school to be a hygienist. She has been in dentistry for over 13 years and at our office for over 5 years now. All of her patients love her. During her down time, she can be found spending time with her family, hunting, or cooking in her food trailer.
Emily Hilpert, RDH
Meet Emily! Emily is one of our Registered Dental Hygienists. She received her degree at Indian Hills. She has been working in the dental field for a few years now and loves it. She resides in Memphis with her puppies, Wilks and Goose. When not working, she is spending time with her family, friends, and going to sporting events.
Callie Althide, CDA
Callie is our Hygiene Assistant. She received her Certified Dental Assisting degree at State Tech. She is Megan's right hand and helps the hygiene rooms run smooth and efficiently. Callie started out as a patient of Dr. DeFries when she was in grade school and was inspired to go into the dental field. She likes to travel to concerts and races with her friends and family in her off time.
Tiffany Youngman, Receptionist
Meet Tiffany! She is the friendly voice you hear when you call the office, and the face you see when you come in. She has worked for Dr. DeFries for a little over 2 years now, and helps make the office run smoothly. During her off time, she can be found spending time with her husband and kids, or taking care of their homestead.
Kristi Simler, Office Manager
Kristi works part time, behind the scenes in the office. She has worked in the dental field off and on for 27 years, spending 20 of those years with Dr. DeFries. Kristi handles billing, contracts, and several other areas of the office. During her downtime, she often has a remodeling project going on somewhere.
